This was my normal street car (my company car) from August  1992 to late 1995. It was first register in July 1992 to Autohaus Becker in Bonn (for about 3 weeks!)

It accumulated approx. 130,000 km during this time. Fuel consumption was between 14 l/100 km (in winter) and 17 l/100 km.

The only modifications that were made were wheels and exhaust, and a nice Alpine radio/CD system. This reduced the already small boot to be just large enough for my breifcase to fit in.

Street specifications :

2 x 654 cm3 rotary motor with two turbos operating in a sequential setup originally putting out around 239 Horsepower (DIN)/176 Kwatts.

225/50 ZR-16 Dunlop winter tyres on 8Jx16 rims (winter setup)

8Jx17 Postert PZ 001 rims with Bridgestone RE 71 with  :

      245/40 ZR-17 front and read

      or

      235/45 ZR-17 front and 255/40-17 rear

Remus 690 dual tip rear muffler.

The 245/40 tyre setup was not great. The front would follow the street surface too much, and optically, there was not much to see.

The 235 front and 255 rear was certainly the more attractive setup. Steering was good, but acceleration was certainly slower..

The Remus rear exhaust has two very large endpipes, and produces a deeper exhaust note. Turbo spool-up was noticable quicker, and there were probably a few extra horses that were let loose.

Winter driving was certainly an experience. The way a turbo rotary sends power to the rear wheels isn´t exactly compatible with a snow covered road.

Late in 1995, after getting a taste for motor racing (Renault 5 GTE), it was time to convert my RX7 and have some fun. Up until this time, the car had no body damage - not even any scratches. Motor racing would change that
